Project Description: 

The project examines international cooperation on research, development, and deployment of clean energy technologies. This includes government and public-private cooperation on clean energy R&D and initiatives focused on the deployment of specific technologies such as solar photovoltaics, electric vehicles, and smart grids. The project focuses on the politics of international clean energy cooperation, after years of gridlock in global climate politics.

Undergraduate's Role: 

The student would primarily conduct online data collection for case studies (newspaper databases, industry journals etc.) and for a dataset on various kinds of clean energy policies. This would involve using databases of, for instance, the OECD, the International Energy Agency and analyzing various reports. 

Undergraduate's Qualifications: 

Some level of prior training in public policy, political science, or environmental economics is necessary. A keen interest in learning about the intersection of policy and global energy markets.
