Project Description: 

This research examines how vehicle and transportation policies affect the environment and the economy, and how alternative policies could produce environmental and economic benefits. The analysis covers several policies, including vehicle emissions standards, smog check programs, and vehicle registration fees and property taxes. We are seeking help constructing a comprehensive database of the registration fees and property taxes that US state and local governments apply to vehicle ownership.

Undergraduate's Role: 

Create a database of state and local registration fees and property taxes, using online records from government websites and potentially some phone outreach to government staff.

Undergraduate's Qualifications: 

Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, skilled at organizing information, ability to work independently.
