Graduate students
The lab welcomes applications from prospective Ph.D. students who are excited about environmental microbiology and virology, ecology and evolutionary biology, and interventions to support coastal ecosystem resilience. Preferred experience includes algal culturing, molecular lab work, bioinformatic analyses, and/or certification as an AAUS scientific diver. Individuals identifying as members of minoritized groups in STEM are particularly encouraged to apply. Information regarding the ESPM graduate program application process is available here. Prospective students are encouraged to apply for graduate fellowships and to contact Dr. Correa before the application deadline, which is typically December 1st.
Postdoctoral collaborators
If you are interested in discussing potential collaborative projects and fellowship/grant avenues to support your work, please contact Dr. Correa. Individuals identifying as members of minoritized groups in STEM are particularly encouraged to apply.
Undergraduate students
Starting in Spring 2024, undergraduate students can get involved in our research for course credit. Interested students are encouraged to email Dr. Correa a brief summary of their background and why they are interested in conducting research in the lab, as well as their CV. You will be paired with a direct bench mentor, who will help introduce you to our research goals and approaches, and support you as you take on more complex, independent work over time. This system works best when a student can participate in the lab's research for multiple semesters. Individuals identifying as members of minoritized groups in STEM are particularly encouraged to apply.
