This course is offered for either TWO or THREE credits. The second credit requires a term paper. The third credit requires an additional lab.
The course is based on 17 lectures (organized into modules and units). The size of individual modules within each unit vary. There will not be a consistent number of modules within each unit or modules each week of the semester. Some allowance is made early in the course to give students a little extra time to familarize themselves with using the internet materials.
You will receive e-mail messages from the instructor at regular intervals. Among other things, these will remind you to take the quizzes at the appropriate times during the semester. Quizzes will represent a small fraction of your total grade (12%). You have 24 hours to complete these short, multiple choice quizzes (extensions given on appeal if appeal is made in advance). Quizzes will be graded on line and students can view their grades at any time.
The mid-term and final exams
will taken on campus. Photographic identification will be required in order
for you to take the examinations. Examination dates are listed in
the syllabus.
