Research - Children’s Environmental Health Laboratory
Info:
The Children’s Environmental Health Laboratory, located at the Richmond Field Station Campus of the University of California, Berkeley, is looking for qualified, enthusiastic and intelligent undergraduate student volunteers who have basic knowledge of biology, genetics, and/or environmental science. Previous lab experience is a plus. Students must be organized and efficient and able to prioritize tasks under pressure.
They will learn to conduct experiments in molecular epidemiology, toxicology and epigenetics, and participate in sophisticated biological sample processing, banking and retrieval for large clinical and population-based studies. This opportunity includes the possibility of receiving independent study units, working towards an Honor’s thesis, and/or becoming a member of the Holland research group.
2nd and 3rd year students are welcome to apply by submitting their CV, current GPA, and Fall semester availability to veronica.dave@berkeley.edu. Ideal candidates will be able to volunteer 10-12 hours/week in blocks of 5-6 hours per day. Promising students will be contacted in order to schedule an interview.
