Research Interests
I am interested in the ecological interactions that affect on population dynamics and community structure. In particular, my postdoctoral work in UC Berkeley analyzes the effects of invasive species on arthropod community along the environmental gradient in Big Island by using meta-barcoding approach.
I earned my PhD in Kyoto University, Japan, by studying niche partitioning between specialist and generalist predatory ladybirds (genus Harmonia), focusing on interspecific sexual interactions that can hamper coexistence of closely related species in the same ecological niche.
