Charlie James served as a Student Representative during his senior year at the Haas School of Business. He also was the President and Co-Founder of the food justice consulting student organization, Food, Equity, Entrepreneurship, & Development (FEED), which aims to provide business services to local non-profits and food justice inspired organizations. He was a national Net Impact Racial Equity Fellow that encourages dialogue that recognizes the urgency of putting equity in all of its manifestations at the forefront of our conversations about injustice, especially when it comes to food systems. As chair of the Undergraduate Berkeley Food Institute Advisory Council, Charlie’s favorite activity was nurturing the student food community at Cal, building relationships between food groups, collaborating in joint events, and raising consciousness about justice concerns within food systems.
