I grew up in California, always with a keen interest in education and teaching and the power that can come to those who have the opportunity to learn. My undergraduate and graduate degrees are both in Education from New York University and though I came back to California to complete my teaching credential requirements, I started working as a program coordinator and advisor at UC Berkeley Extension and really fell in love with this higher education thing! I shifted from continuing education to undergraduate advising in 2014 and joined the College of Natural Resources in the summer of 2018. I currently support Nutritional Science major and minor students, and of course the students pursuing the awesome Food Systems minor. I am interested broadly in scholarship around first year experience programs, students in transition, college admissions, and professional mentorship, and when I’m not spending my time trying to understand what my students are actually studying (what the heck is an adipocyte??), I enjoy reading, running, indulging my sweet tooth, and learning about sharks, dinosaurs, and dragons with my young son.
