Brian Yudkin is a lab assistant for the Silver Lab as of September 2018, making him the newest full-time staff member. Brian grew up on the East Coast and graduated from the University of Virginia in the spring of 2017 with degrees in Environmental Science and Spanish. Following his undergraduate studies, Brian moved to Puerto Rico for over a year to work as a field technician on behalf of the Luquillo Critical Zone Observatory in El Yunque National Forest. Now that he’s back in the continental U.S., Brian is eager to explore the Bay Area and contribute towards the exciting research of the Silver Lab. When he’s not helping out around the lab, he can be found doing field work for a variety of research projects in the California Delta, the Sierra Foothills, or Marin County. His personal research interests include landscape evolution, nutrient cycling, and climate change.
