Marissa Saenger
Lab TechnicianDepartment: Lab Techs, Past Members
Marissa is a visiting researcher working on rangeland soil nitrogen dynamics at the intersection of agriculture and climate change mitigation. She is studying how land management strategies like compost and mineral amendment might enhance long-term soil carbon uptake through mechanisms that affect ecosystem nitrogen availability. Before joining the Silver lab in September 2019, Marissa completed her undergraduate degree in Environmental Science & Engineering at Harvard, and conducted research in renewable energy systems modeling at ETH Zürich in Switzerland. Outside the lab, she enjoys trail running, triathlon training, climbing, cooking, and exploring new parts of the west coast.
