Patina Mendez, Ph.D., UC Berkeley (PI).  Mendez is a Continuing Lecturer in the Department of Environmental Science, Policy & Management (ESPM) and a Specialist in the Essig Museum of Entomology.  She teaches an interdisciplinary senior thesis course for Environmental Sciences (ES) majors (12 yrs,~600 thesis projects) and has developed an extensive writing, planning and data analysis curriculum focused on organizing information. Mendez has training in STEM pedagogy, facilitated FLP and is a Co-PI for the Emerge: Broadening Participation in Freshwater Science Program (NSF). She has received 4 campus teaching awards, including the Rausser College of Natural Resources Distinguished Teaching Award (2022).
