Albright Lecture - Van Jones | November 18, 2018

The Fall 2018 Horace M. Albright Lecture in Conservation will be given by Van Jones, a political commentator and founder of Dream Corps, and will focus on the disproportionate impact of climate change on minorities and low-income communities. Jones will share insight on how we can seek environmental justice for the country’s most vulnerable communities. A Yale-educated attorney, Jones has written several New York Times best sellers, worked as the green jobs advisor to the Obama White House, and currently is a correspondent for CNN. » More Info

Albright Lecture - Jonathan Foley | March 12, 2018

The Horace M. Albright Lecture in Conservation was established at the University of California in 1959. A permanent endowment of the lectureship was provided by contributions from hundreds of generous friends and admirers of Albright. This lectureship enables the University to honor him as one of its distinguished graduates, and also to stimulate for this and future generations wide general interest in the preservation of the natural beauty of America. The Spring 2018 Albright lecture will delivered by Jonathan Foley, PhD, the Executive Director of the California Academy of Sciences.

S. J. Hall Lecture in Industrial Forestry - David J. Nowak | October 12, 2018

This year's annual SJ Hall Lecture in Industrial Forestry will address how urbanization and urban forests across the nation affect the health and well-being of the American population. These forests are changing at a rapid rate and face numerous threats. In addition, urbanization and urban forests are and will increasing influence forest industry. This presentation will discuss the latest findings regarding U.S. urban forest benefits, values and threats, how these forests have and will continue to change in the coming years, and the influence of urbanization and urban forests on forest industry.  » More info
