My primary interests are in forest disturbance ecology and silviculture. For my
dissertation, I am assessing climate change adaptation silvicultural strategies for a
central Sierra Nevada mixed conifer forest. I am also studying the effects of stand
density and pruning treatments on the growth and form of young giant sequoia.
Additionally, I am involved with a drought-related tree mortality survey throughout
the Sierra Nevada, specifically focusing on understory composition and structure.
