New grant to study coho salmon in the Russian River

Stephanie and Ted Grantham received a new grant from the Wildlife Conservation Board together with Mariska Obedzinski of California Sea Grant to study coho salmon survival thresholds in the Russian River system. We will soon be hiring a postdoc  to assist with this effort, so stay tuned!

Field work at Coyote Creek underway!

The summer field season is here and we are back at Coyote Creek, an intermittent creek flowing through Henry Coe State Park. Coyote Creek often fragments into isolated pools by June, but it is still flowing strong following our wet winter!

Pedro Morais (middle) was awarded a Delta Science Postdoctoral Fellowship to study the outmigration behavior of winter-run Chinook during wet and dry years. As per lab tradition, we welcomed Pedro to Berkeley over burritos!
