Elementary school education

lisa teaches 5th graders about similarities and differences between human and insect digestive systems

Throughout the year we go out to local elementary schools to teach kids about entomology, physiology, and science generally.  We usually do this through the Bay Area Scientists in Schools (BASIS) program and we currently have teaching modules developed for kindergarten, 4th, and 5th grade classes. We bring a lot of enthusiasm and excitement for science and insects to the classroom!

If you are interested in scheduling a visit to your school, please contact our outreach coordinator Lauren Ponisio (lponisio AT berkeley DOT edu).
