Can we create artificial photosynthesis systems to make fuels, food, and biodegradable materials? Dr. Chang’s research is focused on chemical biology and inorganic chemistry, with particular interests in molecular imaging and catalysis applied to neuroscience, metabolic and infectious diseases, and sustainable energy. Most recently Dr. Chang was awarded the 2013 American Chemical Society Nobel Laureate Signature Award in Graduate Education, the 2013 Baekeland Prize, and the 2015 Blavatnik Award in Chemistry.
