Mass extinction of bees and butterflies threatens crops worldwide

A growing number of pollinators, such as bees, birds, bats, moths, and butterflies, are being driven towards extinction by a diverse number of human activities. A two year study has concluded that environmental threats to pollinator species affect agricultural crop production world wide. Pollinators are economically, socially, and culturally important and fundamentally important to human society.
