NASA is sending a probe to a giant metal asteroid

In 2023 NASA is planning to send a space probe 370 million km (230 million miles) to a 200 km (130 mi) wide asteroid named Psyche 16. Why this particular asteroid? Psyche 16 is believed to be the left over core of a small planet torn apart during the formation of the solar system billions of years ago. Also it turns out that is probably made up of lots and lots of iron, nickel, copper, gold, platinum, etc, . . . so there’s that.
