I am a Doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Oslo. My research focuses on developing methods to estimate seasonal snow and how it’s distributed in mountainous terrain. We work with different satellite observations, such as snow-covered-area measured by optical sensors or direct estimates of snow depth retrieved from laser altimeters. We also use physical models and merge information on the snowpack from different sources using data assimilation algorithms. Before focusing my scientific interest on snow, I studied at Politecnico di Milano where I received my BSc and MSc in Environmental and Geoinformatics Engineering.
