When talking about colonies, collaborations, social behaviors, we think about ants, bees, and wasps. But apparently sociality is widespread across the natural world. For example, the parasitic flatworm, or trematodes; one of the weirdest societies out there.

When working with Argentine ants in the lab we frequently use flooding as a method to move the colony from their natural nest materials (e.g., soil and rotten wood) into clean lab containers.
