Project Description:

The SPUR apprentice will work with Dr. Susana Matias on a research project focused on increasing awareness, cultivation, and consumption of Moringa in California. This project ends in March/April 2023; the SPUR apprentice will work in another project in Dr. Matias lab after that. In this study, we will:

  • Coordinate an educational workshop/webinar about Moringa for the campus community, and
  • Implement a pilot study to test acceptability, adherence, and safety of providing Moringa leaves (as powder) to adult study participants

The SPUR apprentice will support different study activities, such as coordination of educational/recruitment events, screen, recruit, interview and follow study participants, and/or collect clinical research data.

The SPUR apprentice team will work with another undergraduate student, be directly supervised by a Graduate Student Researcher (GSR), and attend weekly lab meetings.
