College of Natural Resources 2019 Summer Internship Grant

March 27, 2019

In support of campus equity and inclusion goals, the College of Natural Resources is excited to provide the Summer Internship Grant for Summer 2019.  This grant will provide an opportunity for undergraduates who face financial, cultural, and other barriers to participate in summer internships that advance their career or academic interests. Internships are encouraged from any field or discipline.  A personal statement including a description of how the work contributes to fostering greater social equity and inclusion will be required.

Grants will range from a few hundred dollars to a few thousand, depending on a student’s need and proposed budget.

This competitive grant is meant to help students meet basic living expenses and to make it possible for students to pursue internships that might be unpaid or low-paid.  Students are responsible for finding an internship and covering expenses beyond the value of the grant.

Applications for the 2019 Summer Internship Grant are due by Friday, April 19, 2019 at 5:00 pm.

All applicants will be notified of their status by the end of May.

Criteria:

  • Open to students who received need-based financial aid during the current academic year.
  • Summer internships must last at least four weeks. Internships can be paid or unpaid, for academic credit or not for credit.
  • Students must submit a resume, budget, and personal statement for consideration.
  • Students must complete a survey, join CNR’s LinkedIn network, and open a Career Services Handshake account upon finishing their internship.
