Who We Are

We are a professional organization of Bay Area grad students, undergraduates, post docs, and professionals dedicating to promoting the science and practice of conservation biology. We were founded at the University of California-Berkeley in 1997, but are not exclusive to university students or Berkeley residents. We encourage members of the entire Bay Area community to join our group. Membership is free!

What We Do

Our mission is to promote scientific research, dialogue, and policy on the conservation of biological diversity, and to connect Bay Area students, conservation professionals, and activists through hands-on conservation experiences and professional development opportunities. We encourage thinking about conservation biology in the broadest sense, welcoming a variety of disciplines. This breadth can be seen in our current and past projects and campaigns. Explore our website to learn more about our activities!
