As we all pretty much know, coffee is one of the most consumed beverages in the world and for most people their primary source of caffeine. Why then do some people need only a single dose to feel it’s affects while others need multiple cups to keep themselves buzzed? It turns out that activity of the PDSS2 gene (located at position q21 on the long arm of chromosome #6, in humans) regulates the ability of cells to metabolize caffeine, causing it to stay in the body longer.
