Ivory Gulls and the decline of arctic sea ice

Along with marine mammals, seabirds are top predators in polar marine ecosystems and their decline has been traced to global changes in temperature and the recession of sea ice cover. The number of  ivory gulls, Pagophila eburnea, for example has decreased by a factor of seven since 2007.
