Scientists find oldest human ancestor

A recent discovery in central China of a 540 million year old fossilized animal is believed to be the earliest common ancestor of humans. Saccorhytus coronarius, a microscopic sea creature about 1 mm long, is the oldest known deuterostome, the common ancestors of a broad range of species, including vertebrates.
