The scientific case for poop transplants

Fecal Microbiota Transplantation (FMT) is gaining acceptance as an alternative to oral antibiotics for the treatment of C. difficile infections, IBS, Crohn’s disease, and other gastrointestinal maladies. The human GI tract is a complex environment of tens of thousands of bacteria species and the transplant of fecal matter from a healthy person to person with a compromised GI tract can prove significant.
