Scientists know why you get that weird feeling of nIb’poH

Déjà vu, or nIb’poH in Klingon (sorry about the Star Trek references), is that weird feeling you get when you think you’ve done something before. It turns out scientists have figured out why your brain does this. TL;DR Scientists used to think that déjà vu was caused by the brain making false memories but new research suggests that it is the result of the brain actually checking for memory errors. I could have used a clip from the Matrix with a black cat or something but I just couldn’t bring myself to do it.
