Jacob Bukoski

1233173_676868865671810_1334509895_oJacob’s interests are broad and have formerly covered topics such as energy efficiency in buildings, sustainable urban design, snake ecology, tropical forest restoration, and mangrove conservation. Currently, he is interested in carbon dynamics in tropical forests, and whether or not relationships between aboveground and belowground carbon pools exist such that remote sensing can be used to quantify carbon stocks in belowground pools. Much of his research has a strong applied component, and he is interested in developing data-driven tools that better-inform environmental decision-making, particularly for those without extensive resources or specialist support. Jacob is currently exploring these topics as a member of the Data Science for the 21 st Century NSF Research Traineeship.
