Project Description:

This project involves inputting and helping analyze data from community interviews of Indigenous Oaxacan farmworker families in the Central Valley of California.  Indigenous Oaxacan farmworker community members are conducting the interviews.  The student involved in this project will support the community researchers, input data from the interviews, and help with analysis of the data.  The interviews were developed in collaboration with an Indigenous Oaxacan farmworker community based organization so that the data will be helpful for the organization in responding to the needs of the community in the future.  The student involved in this project should speak and read English and Spanish.  If the student speaks an Indigenous Oaxacan language, that could potentially be helpful as well.  This is a project focused on essential workers in the food system that is funded by the National Science Foundation and led by social anthropologists, human geographers and sociologists across the country.
