Adriana Gonzales is a 1st year Master’s/PhD student in the Energy & Resources Group department. She is interested in the land struggles occurring at sites of clean energy transition and community solar projects as a practice of energy sovereignty, with a primary focus on Caribbean geographies. She comes to Berkeley from Chicago, where she was an International Research Associate at Mathematica, a research and data analytics consultancy, working primarily on energy projects in West Africa and the Caribbean. She is personally invested in community practices of care and sovereignty as a full-spectrum doula and Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC), having provided community-centric care to growing families in Chicago and her hometown of Denver. Adriana holds a BA in Anthropology from the University of Chicago.
