A new approach to cancer therapy using modified versions of a patient’s own cells is showing extraordinary results in leukemia patients. CAR T-cell therapy essentially re-engineers a patient’s immune cells to treat their cancers. Several studies have come out this month raising hopes that this new therapy may prove to be a potent new tool in cancer treatment.
