My research interests lie at the interface of limnology, palaeoecology, and biogeography on questions related to the distribution of diatoms. I am fascinated by how aquatic meta-communities respond to environmental changes over time. I have recently started developing ideas on paleoecological-scale resilience, integrating data reflecting biophysical and social processes to understand the dynamics of complex socio-ecological systems. I am a Postdoc Fellow at the National Socio-Environmental Synthesis Center (SESYNC), advised externally by Albert Ruhi.
