Join the lab!

We welcome inquiries from potential undergraduates, graduate students, postdocs, and faculty interested in freshwater ecology and conservation.

The Ruhi Lab is a diverse group of people who work hard and have fun together – and we are part of the vibrant Berkeley Freshwater group.

Undergraduate Students

If you are a current UC Berkeley undergraduate student interested in gaining research experience, conducting a summer internship, or developing an honors thesis on freshwater ecology, please e-mail me and we will talk about ongoing projects that may be of interest. UC Berkeley undergraduates may apply to work in our group through various programs, such as URAP, SPUR, and BSP.

Graduate Students

Highly-motivated individuals wishing to join our group as a Ph.D. student are encouraged to e-mail me, including a CV and a description of background and research interests. This conversation should take place well before applying to the ESPM’s Ph.D. program, so that we can discuss fit and identify potential research projects. Many funding opportunities exist, such as the NSF-GRFP and the Delta Science Fellowship.

Postdoctoral Researchers

We always welcome inquiries from prospective postdocs. If you think our group is a good fit for your interests, please e-mail me with a CV and a summary of your research interests. We can help you put together a proposal and apply for competitive postdoctoral fellowships–including but not limited to the UC Berkeley’s Miller Fellowshipthe UC’s President’s Postdoctoral Fellowship, the NSF Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Biology (PRFB), the Smith Fellowship, the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA), and the Delta Science Fellowship.
