The Plant and Microbial Biology Graduate Student Support Fund

The Department of Plant and Microbial Biology administers two highly-ranked graduate programs leading to either a Ph.D. in Plant Biology or a Ph.D. in Microbiology.

The #1 ranked graduate program in plant biology (Academic Analytics, 2006-2007) is designed to train students in modern research areas of plant biology, using cell and molecular biology, genetics, and biochemistry approaches to study light dependent gene regulation, developmental programming, and intra- and intercellular signaling pathways.

Students pursuing a Ph.D. degree in the #3 ranked Microbiology program (Academic Analytics, 2006-2007) have access to faculty from many disciplines through an integrated program of study that allows each student to pursue specialized interests.

Students pursuing a Ph.D. in Microbiology gain a breadth of understanding of microbiology from the molecular to the cellular levels of organization, as well as the interactions of microbesóbeneficial and pathogenicówith other organisms.

Money from the PMB Graduate Student Support Fund goes directly to our students and is used to help pay for fees, tuition and stipends. All PMB graduate students are fully supported for five years. Your support will help ensure that our department's student funding remains competitive so that we are able to recruit and retain the very best students into our program.

All gifts to CNR are tax-deductible to the extent of the law.
