I am an evolutionary ecologist interested in the life-history evolution of alternative traits of aquatic species. My past research has focused on how different salmonid species have evolved alternative migratory life-histories under varying environmental conditions to alternative defensive traits in estuarine threespine stickleback. My current research focuses on (meta)community dynamics of aquatic invertebrates in intermittent stream networks, and on developing an ecological model that tracks how changes in traits of one species can cascade through a community, causing evolutionary responses in other species.
