It's really hard to believe that I have already finished my first two years of college. I came to Berkeley from New Jersey, and at first I had no clue what was going on. One of the reasons why I chose Berkeley was because of CNR, and now I don't know how I would have survived my first year at Berkeley without being in CNR.

I love that there are so many different types of people at Berkeley. I've made friends with people who come from so many different backgrounds. Also, in terms of student groups and involvement, there's something for everyone. I love that Berkeley is kind of like a buffet, and you can get a little taste of everything.

I traveled to Honduras last winter with a group called Global Medical Brigades. I fell in love with Central America, and I'm visiting Costa Rica over the summer. I love the Spanish language and the vibrant culture in Central America. Hopefully, I'll be able to somehow integrate this interest in my senior research project.

I was so confused my freshmen year because my friends in L&S didn't have the same requirements that I did for CNR. I think it's important for CNR students to have other students that they can go to for advice on CNR-specific requirements. Also, talking to other students is the best way to get a sense of what classes and professors are really amazing. I'm glad I get to give back to CNR a little bit for the awesome small college environment that it provides me with.
