Martha C. Nussbaum, who, along with Amartya Sen, is credited with the Capabilities Approach to welfare economics, is the Ernst Freund Distinguished Service Professor of Law and Ethics at the University of Chicago. She has appointments in the Law School and the Philosophy Department, and Associate appointments in the departments of Classics and Political Science. She is on the board of the Human Rights Program, a Member of the Committee on Southern Asian Studies, and a member of the Steering Committee of the University of Chicago Center in Delhi. She is the winner of the 2015 Inamori Ethics Prize. Her most recent book is Political Emotions: Why Love Matters for Justice. Her new book, Anger and Forgiveness, will appear in the Spring.
