The Ruiz lab is involved in research to understand envelope biogenesis in Gram-negative bacteria. Specifically, the Ruiz lab uses genetic and biochemical approaches to investigate the mechanisms of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and peptidoglycan (PG) biogenesis in Escherichia coli.
