Hey everyone! My name is Kiyomi Tateno and I am currently a senior studying Ecosystem Management and Forestry with a Forestry concentration. I’m from the East Bay area and I transferred from Chabot College last fall. In my free time, I enjoy listening to music, practicing archery with friends, finding new spots to eat, and exploring nature.
This summer, I attended Forestry Camp and I have previously worked for a NSF Research Experience for Undergraduates hosted by Cal State LA focused on Urban Hydrology. In this program, I drone mapped the LA River and used ArcGIS in evaluating the accuracy of land classification systems. Currently, I am interested in pursuing graduate studies and hope to work for the US Forest Service or State/National Parks as a forester.
If you ever have any questions, feel free to reach out! I’m always open to talk about my experience as a transfer student, REU programs, Forestry Camp, or anything else. I look forward to getting to know you all and being your PALs this year!
