Tom Lloyd is a Senior Vice President at Capital Group, where he works across multiple investment areas with a focus on quantitative research. Prior to his current role, Tom spent a decade managing institutional equity portfolios, concentrating on global environmental themes such as water, alternative energy, and scientific instrumentation, as well as the North American automotive and industrial sectors, including companies like General Electric, Emerson Electric, and Fluor.Tom’s professional journey spans well beyond finance. He has run a nonprofit organization serving homeless youth, worked as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company, and served as a manager at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Earlier in his career, he spent ten years performing with the Boston rock band The Del Fuegos. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Bioresource Science from the College of Natural Resources class of 1993 and his Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering Science from Caltech. In addition to being an alumnus he is also a parent of a Cal Bear. His daughter, Adelaide “Addie” Lloyd, is a 2022 Conservation and Resource Studies graduate from Rausser College of Natural Resources.
