I'm from:
Seattle, Washington
What brought me here:
I studied chemistry at Pomona College, and there, I found that endless hours spent in lab are much more enjoyable when I can connect the work to tangible results and the possibility of improving life for real people. A desire to do research that matters brought me to toxicology, and the strong program, the unique emphasis, and the very friendly, down-to-earth students, staff, and faculty brought me to UC Berkeley.
Current stage in program:
4th year Molecular Toxicology Ph.D. Candidate, Steve Rappaport Lab.
Outside of lab I love:
Riding my bike (especially uphill), skiing, snowboarding, the great Outdoors, cooking and eating, pottery, and good coffee spots.
Broadly, I am interested in environmental toxicology as it relates to human health.
