Ariane Arias-Ortiz, a member of the Berkeley Biometeorology Lab, was interviewed about her research on wetland restoration and storage of carbon emissions.

A Climate and Global Change Fellow of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Arias-Ortiz shared how visiting her grandparents as a child shaped her interest in coastal systems. She credits her time studying in Australia with sparking her interest in blue carbon research, and for motivating her to learn how to scuba dive.
