D'Odorico.
Congratulations to Paolo D’Odorico, a professor in the Department of Environmental Science, Policy, and Management, for receiving the Dalton Medal from the European Geosciences Union (EGU). The EGU’s medals honor individuals who have made significant contributions to Earth, planetary, and space sciences. D’Odorico, along with other recipients, will be celebrated during the upcoming EGU General Assembly in spring 2025.
D’Odorico’s research investigates the globalization of water through virtual water trade and international land investments, and its impact on water equity, societal resilience, environmental stewardship, and food security. His work also identifies global patterns of land and water tenure, and linkages between sustainability and justice in the context of the fulfillment of human rights and the rights of nature.
