Sustainability Seminars: Dr. Jay Keasling
The Keasling lab has developed robust microbial hosts, novel metabolic pathways to produce unnatural molecules, and new tools to regulate metabolic pathways inside cells.
Through this engineering, they are producing advanced biofuels compatible with our existing
transportation infrastructure. This could allow us to greatly reduce our dependence on petroleum and reduce emissions, all without having to change our infrastructure.
