Congratulations on your admission to
the Rausser College of Natural Resources at UC Berkeley!

Being admitted to UC Berkeley is a significant accomplishment and you should be very proud. During this exciting period of intellectual and personal growth, we are here to help you with your questions about majors, the College, the University, enrichment opportunities, and more.

We would love to meet you in person during Rausser College’s special events at Cal Day on Saturday, April 13, 2024. Our undergraduate advisors, current students, and faculty members will be available to answer your questions throughout the day.

Starting at 8:00AM in California Memorial Stadium, newly admitted students and families will be greeted by the Chancellor’s Morning Welcome and you will hear more about what to expect during Cal Day. The majority of Rausser College’s Cal Day events will take place in Mulford Hall, located on the northwest side of campus. After the Chancellor’s Welcome, please make your way to our side of campus for the New Student Reception. At any time, feel free to visit Oskiland at Memorial Glade, and explore the Information Zones throughout campus.

9 - 10 AM: Meet Your Advisor & New Student Reception
All newly admitted Rausser College of Natural Resources students and their families are invited to attend a special Cal Day reception where you will have the chance to meet and interact with your academic advisor and Peer Advising Leaders (PALs). Light refreshments will be served in both locations.

10 - 11 AM: Dean’s Welcome & Student Experience Panel #1 (Room 159 in Mulford Hall)
Dean David Ackerly, Associate Dean Kate O’Neill, Assistant Dean Joshua Dullaghan, and Assistant Director Meaghan DeRespini look forward to welcoming you to Rausser College. Current students from Rausser College will also share their experiences about their time at UC Berkeley. Seating is limited but there will be a second address at 11:15 AM. 10 - 11 AM: Spotlight Tour #1 of the Rausser College of Natural Resources (Tour will meet and depart from the Mulford Hall Courtyard and will circle the buildings on the Northwest side of campus.)
Join an exclusive walking tour of the Rausser College of Natural Resources. The Rausser College of Natural Resources is surrounded by historical buildings on the beautiful northwest side of campus. A second tour will take place at 1pm.

11 AM - 1 PM: Explore Our Student Organizations (Basement & 1st floor of Mulford Hall)
Part of the Rausser College of Natural Resources “small-college” experience is getting to know fellow students with common academic interests. Rausser College is home to numerous student groups whose members are working on environmental, social, and health issues. Meet and be inspired by student organizers invested in building a sense of community here at Berkeley 

11 AM - 1 PM: Faculty Research Demonstration (2nd floor of Mulford Hall)
One of the many ways Rausser College undergraduates gain research experience is through Sponsored Projects for Undergraduate Research. Come explore exciting and innovative research opportunities that faculty and students have collaborated on through the SPUR program.

11:15 AM - 12:15 PM​: Dean’s Welcome & Student Experience Panel #2 (Room 159 in Mulford Hall)
Did you miss the morning welcome?  No worries!  We got you covered!  Dean David Ackerly, Associate Dean Kate O’Neill, Assistant Dean Joshua Dullaghan, and Assistant Director Meaghan DeRespini look forward to welcoming you to Rausser College. 12 - 1 PM: RCNR Ice Cream Social (Rooms 132 & 260 in Mulford Hall)
Cool down with some delicious It's It ice cream while you explore all of the student org tables & chat with the Major Advisors out on the GPB Lawn! Non-dairy and vegan options will also be available.

1 - 2 PM: Latinx Student Experience Panel (Room 159 in Mulford Hall)
The Latinxs & the Environment Initiative and RCNR Office of Instruction & Student Affairs welcome newly admitted Latinx students and their familias to hear from current Latinx undergraduates about how they found community on campus and resources that help them thrive in the Berkeley community. This panel will include students from different majors with diverse campus commitments, such as research, student organizations, and work-study positions. This is an opportunity for incoming students and their families to ask first-generation students about their experiences at a top university.

1 - 2 PM: Guided Campus Tree Tour (Meet on the North-facing stairs, outside of Mulford Hall - facing Morgan Hall and the Genetics and Plant Biology Lawn)
Learn more about UC Berkeley's natural landscape with a tour of campus trees! The tour is led by our very own Cal Forestry Club! RSVP here

Tours Times: 10 AM, 12 PM, & 2 PM (Tours will meet and depart from the Mulford Hall Courtyard and will circle the buildings on the Northwest side of campus.) 

If you are around town and on campus the day before Cal Day, Friday, April 12th, there will be 3 opportunities to join the Spotlight Tour of the Rausser College of Natural Resources historical buildings on the northwest side of campus. While most of tour's content will be the same as our CalDay tours, the three on Friday will have a few bonus opportunities.

All of our Friday tours will have the chance to come in and see our Student Resource Center & Advising Headquarters, located in 260 Mulford. The 12pm and 2pm tours will be ending at our college-wide RCNR Research Showcase event. You can RSVP for the Friday tours here.
