Cal Logging Sports

Welcome to the home of the Cal Logging Sports Team. Practices are held once a week on Sundays. Email buckingbears@gmail.com for more information.

Cal Logging Sports is currently comprised of 15 students from various disciplines across the UC Berkeley campus. Our practice site is located at the UC Berkeley Russell Tree Farm property near Lafeyette.  Practices are open to individuals of all levels and are typically held once a week on Sundays. To join the team, simply contact our captains at buckingbears@gmail.com and come to a practice.

Berkeley's logging team has a rich history in the sport. It is one of the founding members of the Association of Western Forestry Clubs (AWFC) which holds an annual logging conclave featuring 20 collegiate level teams from across the western United States. The AWFC Conclave changes location between the various participating schools, giving students an opportunity to interact with a variety of forest landscapes and species not found in the classroom. The team also participates in many shows each year including the Redwood Regional located in Humboldt County or Ukiah, the Sierra Cascade Logging Conference located in in Shasta County, and the annual Cal Conclave hosted by Cal Poly in the first weekend in November at Swanton Pacific Ranch.
